Hush

In Hush, the player must navigate through a large hostile labyrinth in a race against time.


The player is playing a character who had just taken their dog for a walk at night when the dog went crazy and ran off into the adjacent forest. They ran after the dog, but it was clearly faster. Eventually, the person could only hear the dog's barks and wasn't quite sure where it or they were. This is the starting situation into which the player is thrown.

All systems are developed in Blueprints, all visuals are taken from the Epic Games Asset Store, Quixel, Sketchfab and assembled by me.

Details

The forest forms a labyrinth of trees with several clearings breaking up the dense woods. In these clearings, there are statues that the player can use as waypoints.

Sometimes, the player also finds other useful items that will help them navigate.

Scattered throughout the labyrinth are hearing monsters that relentlessly pursue any sound they detect.

They also cloud the surrounding area into a darkness that slowly drains the sanity of any person that is wandering inside their area of influence - adding a driving force for the player to get through the maze as quickly as possible.

If they don’t make it in time, they will succumb to madness, as shown in the bottom image.

Goal

Throughout exploring the maze the player will find Ghost Spheres.

The end of the Maze runs into a cave, which houses the last statue and an altar. If all three ghost spheres have been found and put into it, the player wins.
